On September 18, 2019, the Wynford FFA chapter traveled to Galion to Kocher Family Farms for the county soils contest. The urban team won the contest with Jodie Jennings placing first in the county. Thomas Weithman placed second, Kitana Vanderkooi placed third, and Caity Schiefer placed fourth. Our rural team won second in the county. Kegan Fry placed second, Graham Alvarez placed fourth, and Reese McGuire placed fifth. Both teams advanced to districts. On September 26, 2019, our rural and urban teams traveled to Lorain County to compete in district soils. The urban team placed second, which advanced them to the state competition. Thomas Weithman placed fourth, and Jodie Jennings placed fifth overall. Our rural team placed ninth overall. On October 12, 2019, our urban soils team traveled to North Lewisburg to compete at the state soils competition. The team consisted of Thomas Weithman, Jodie Jennings, Thomas Rindfuss, and Kitana Vanderkooi. They placed fifth overall. Thomas Weithman led the team with a fourth place finish. They will travel to Oklahoma, May 4-8, 2020, to compete in the National Land and Range Judging contest.
